The Elegant Universe – in 1999, American physicist Brian Greene published his award-winning book The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory. Four years later, the U.S. Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) decided to turn the book into a three hours special covering many important topics in modern physics, including the theory of everything, Newton and gravity, space-time, string theory, quantum mechanics and even philosophy of science. The project is divided into 24 episodes, each 5-10 minutes long. All episodes are in QuickTime format (good chance to use QuickTime Alternative if you don't like/don’t have full QuickTime). TFOT recently covered another excellent PBS website - Red Gold – the Epic History of Blood.
