The dust mate concept shoes were designed for the Electrolux Design Lab 2005 Award. These shoes clean on the move sucking dirt into special compartments as you walk around the home.

Although this might sound like an appealing concept, people rarely walk around the house wearing their outdoor shoes. It is also doubtful how much suction power will these shoes have and how light they could be carrying their own power supply. All these issues aside, when reports say people spend about 90 hours a year vacuuming their home this might not be such a bad idea after all.
