Searching for a trend-setting alternative to a hard-to-park, gas-guzzling automobile? Look no further then the T-Rex, a side-by-side 2-seater, 3-wheeled, open-air vehicle that uses a car's steering wheel. Hand-built by the Canadian company Campagna Corporation (aka T-Rex Vehicles, Inc.), the T-Rex has been around since the mid 1990's but is still being sold today.

Unlike a motorcycle, the three-wheeler can actually drive in reverse. The third wheel contributes to its stability as does it's ultra-low 42 in. (1067 mm) height and low center of gravity. Very powerful for its size, with an empty weight of only 900 lbs. (410 kg), the T-Rex has 1200 cc engine with about 148 hp, capable of accelerating this beast from 0-60 mph (0-100 kph) in 4.1 seconds and reaching a respectable top speed of 140 mph (225 kph).  All this, with the gas consumption of a motorcycle!

Not as practical as the folding motorcycle or as revolutionary as the EV-X7 Electric Motorbike, the T-Rex is still in demand. 350 have been built to date. With 200 more on order and only about 5 built each week in Quebec, you'll have to wait a good part of a year after deciding to spring $50k.

More information can be found on this Discovery Channel video and on the Campagna Corporation website.
